Empretec Gambia wishes to inform the Empretec network about the demise of Amie Njie who passed away last Sunday (7th January 2018) and was laid to rest the following day Monday (8th January 2018). Amie Njie was one of the women entrepreneurs supported by the Empretec Project. She was very hardworking and had lots of visionary plans for her business until her demise. May her soul rest in Perfect Peace and ALLAH to bless her JANATUL FIR DAUSI.
The Empretec program in The Gambia is funded by UNDP and Government of the Gambia and anchored at GIEPA. Since September, 2014 when the first training was commissioned, Empretec center has trained over 736 entrepreneurs including 164 farmers some of whom have started manifesting success in their businesses. The BDS component has also trained 93 BDS advisers and 61 of whom are actively providing advisory services to 293 businesses.
